Strategic Solutions is dedicated to helping owners of family businesses understand, create, and execute a successful transition strategy. It was started in 2014 by Brad Burklund after he sold the second generation family business where he worked for over 31 years in many roles including owner and President. He realized there was a hole in the exit process in dealing with the family dynamics and coordinating the pieces of the plan, and he know it could be done better.
Family business transition is Personal. It is not easy, and most business owners have never sold a business. We have been through it and understand the issues.
We help owners figure out and coordinate the exit process and understand the emotional and family relationship issues involved. Without the right guidance, issues key to creating a successful outcome are not discussed or dealt with. Strategic Solutions focuses on asking the right questions to help owners think through and understand what they want to see happen, and to also avoid what they do not want to have happen. We feel a successful transition accomplishes the financial goals of the owner and helps them find engagement, fulfillment, and relevancy in pursuing the next phase in their lives, just as they found when building their business.
